Wayne got his first taste of the industry at the ripe young age of 5 years old while pumping gas in downtown Brooklyn in 1968 at his father Ralph’s station. By senior year of high school, Wayne was operating his own station. Wayne’s experience in the industry took a huge leap when he was fortunate enough to work for 3 years hand in hand with one of the biggest convenience store operators in the country- perfecting not only how to manage facilities on a day to day basis but how to scale that business and build a legacy.<\/p>\n
Wayne’s experience in the industry also includes 7 years in convenience store distribution. Wayne has been with GASDA for the past 16 years; the first 10 years as Deputy Director and then as Executive Director since 2018. Upon his father Ralph’s passing in 2020, Wayne assumed his role of Executive Director for the New York State Association of Service Stations and repair Shops (N.Y.S.A.S.S.R.S.). Wayne holds an MBA from St. Johns University and is the blessed recipient of a heart transplant in 2019. Wayne is a die hard Rangers and Jets fan and enjoys spending time with his wife Theresa, his 2 kids and 3 grandchildren.<\/p>\n

Amanda joined the initiative to help rebuild the labor force of the Automotive Industry in 2018. She started in a communications support role as a consultant and web developer for ISCONY (Independent Service Centers of New York), formerly SSRSOUNY (Service Stations and Repair Shops of Upstate New York). Her role evolved and expanded into more in-depth involvement durring COVID-19, and she replaced the prior Director in 2022.<\/p>\n
In 2023, ISCONY’s mission and services were incorporated with RSGDA (Repair Shops and Gasoline Dealers Association), where she became the Associate Director under Wayne. Amanda now represents the Upstate interests of NYSASSRS\/RSGDA from our Syracuse office. She is tasked with helping to introduce the Automotive Trade to the next generation of technicians. She does this with her background in Marketing and Communications, as she has managed her own marketing and consulting firm since 2013.<\/p>\n
When she is not meeting with members or speaking on their behalf to local representatives, Amanda lives in Homer, NY, with her family and spends as much of her spare time as she can creating little travel adventures.<\/p>\n
